Polka Dots Make for Fun Kids Room Decor

When kids grow up, there are certain tranistion periods between certain stages of growth wherin kids want to redecorate their room because they've outgrown their current room decor. We found this to be the case with our 5 year old daughter Janae. She wanted her room to be "a fun place." The challenging thing with childrens decor is that their tastes change so frequently that it's not really worth painting in most cases. So, how do you decorate a room to be a "fun place" without painting? With vinyl lettering and shapes.

We were able to use different colors of vinyl to create polka dots of different sizes that we sporadically stuck to the walls around my daughters room. We then put her name above her headboard in Soft Pink. The vinyl letters added just the right finishing touch to her room, making it the fun place she wanted. The great thing about the vinyl wall lettering is that you can customize it to be whatever you want - whether you want shapes like stars, polka dots, or flowers, they can easily be created with custom vinyl lettering.

This is a great solution that will save you time, money, and a lot of headaches when your kid wants to change their room decor next year. Just imagine how difficult it would be if you chose to paint instead of using wall lettering like we did.

Redesign Your Reading Room

When we built our house, one thing we really wanted was a sitting, or reading area. Someplace with a couple of comfy chairs and a reading light where one could just relax, away from the TV, computer, and hassles of everday life. One challenge when decorating a sitting room is how to bring some personality into the room while still keeping it simple.

One way to acheive this is with a favorite quote affixed to the wall of the sitting area. Whether the quote is inspirational, or captures 0ne's commitment to home and family, one thing is certain. A little bit of vinyl lettering, in the form of a Wall Stamps custom vinyl lettering kit can go a long way in acheiving the look you want, while keeping the simple and relaxing feel of your reading area.

Simply Decorate a Child's Room

Some people struggle when decorating a child's room. They ask questions like "what do I do when the child's tastes change" or "I hate painting, how can I decorate without paint," etc. For many parents, vinyl wall lettering has been a God send for them because it's an inexpensive, easy, and non-permanent way to decorate a childs room. Renters especially love decorating with vinyl lettering, because it's easy to remove without damaging the walls of your rental unit (which would cost you a lot of $). Wall lettering is an inexpensive alternative to painting, and provides great options for do it yourself interior decorators who are looking for inexpensive decor options, especially in today's economy -a Wall of Words is a great way to decorate.

Decorative Signs Are Simple To Create

I meet people all the time that love the vinyl lettering that we make. However, some of them express concerns that they either rent, and want something that they can take with them, or that they love the lettering so much that they want something they can share with others. The perfect solution to this is to use some custom vinyl lettering to create a home decor sign.

Here are some simple instructions for creating a beautiful home decor sign:

  1. Order your vinyl lettering kit. Once you order the kit, you'll know what size to make the board

  2. Get your board. You'll want to measure the vinyl letters, and then add 1" to each side. This gives room for a border, so the lettering doesn't crowd the edges of the sign.

  3. Paint the Board. You can get some nice acrylic paint for about .50 cents at almost any craft store. Choose a color that compliments your decor and will provide a nice background for the lettering color you chose.

  4. Distress Edges. If you like the rustic look, you can distress the edges by sanding off some of the paint with a sanding block. If you like a clean and contemporary look, you can leave the sign as it is.

  5. Apply the lettering. Make sure your board is clean and free from dust. Line out the lettering and apply it with the application instructions that accompanied your order.

  6. Insert Hangers. You can use sawtooth hangers to affix to the back of the board. These are inexpensive and will let you hang the sign.

  7. Enjoy.

Once you've created your first sign you'll probably find that it's addicting. That's because you managed to create a beautiful home decor sign that would have cost you a small fortune from a boutique - and you did it without spending much.

Custom Monograms with Vinyl Wall Letters

Do you or someone you know love monograms? My friend Phen is crazy about monograms, she monograms everything...her bags, towels, dish towels. You name it, chances are she has it monogrammed. While I think the whole monogram thing can definitely be taken too far, there is one monogram that I love, and this a monogram on your entry way wall with some custom vinyl lettering.

When you think of monogrammed wall lettering, you're probably wondering what it would look like. Would it look cheesy? Would it match your decor tastes? Well, because monograms are custom made with vinyl lettering, you can make it in any style you want, and use any colors you want. This allows you to easily create a beautiful monogram for the entry way of your home. If you're considering a monogram, our custom design team can create a unique monogram made from high quality vinyl wall lettering.
